The Kairos Society recently partnered with Alibaba.com to bring 50 of its fellows to China alongside Governor Schwarzenegger and former Alibaba.com CEO, David Wei. The fellows spent a week in Hangzhou and Shanghai exploring entrepreneurial opportunities to create international startups with China. The fellows visited international logistics centers, manufacturing facilities, and joined for the 2010 annual Alifest. Here they worked with other international entrepreneurs to better understand global sourcing and heard from leaders including Former Ambassador Jon Huntsman on the best ways to do business in China.
The fifty Kairos fellows were selected at the 2010 Kairos Global Summit as part of a contest hosted by Aliababa. Fellows in attendance were offered the chance to submit their idea for how they would launch a new business in partnership with entrepreneurs and/or manufacturers in China. The fifty students with the best ideas were selected to join for the all-expense paid trip.
